Objects of Desire. Wolfson College, Oxford. september 2011. solo show. This show arose out of an abstract that I submitted to a conference called Travel and Truth. I wanted to show a film about my souvenirs called A Journey around my life, instead of giving a conference paperin the usual way. The convenors agreed and then looked at my work on line and offered me a show which coincided with the opening of the conference and continued for 2 weeks afterwards. I made a cabinet of curiosities, exhibited 50 pieces of work and showed my film.
Narrative of Origins at The Gallery of Wonder. Newcastle University. August – september 2011. Solo show.
The Gallery of Wonder is a gallery and research project that explores wonderment through the relationship between Science and Art. My show dealt with taxonomies and comprise 18 boxes with new groupings in them represented by photographs pinned like butterflies. The categories mimicked the Linnean method of ordering species. see www.galleryofwonder.co.uk
